The South West Coast Path

Wow. Why have I not heard of this before now!?

I just added a new one to my list…

Welcome to the South West Coast Path. A 630 mile stretch from Minehead in Somerset to Poole Harbour in Dorset. It is the longest long distance footpath in England!

Any hiking lovers dream.

One day I’d love to walk all of it. But until the day I have an endless amount of time to be away from my desk, then I will settle for just walking a small chunk of it.

This weekend we ventured to St Agnes in Cornwall. It was my first experience of walking some of the coastal path. It was beautiful!

We got to walk a little more of it when visiting Crantock beach.

The path runs through parts of Newquay too and I imagine the coastal views continue throughout the whole journey.

As a lover of long walks, it was nice to be able to get the countryside feel walking along the grass but with an ocean view!

One day I hope to make it down to Cornwall again and really do a good hike along the South West Coast Path.

  1. It’s a fabulous path but so long. We’ve done a few different sections of it but only as day hikes. Would be great to attempt the whole lot, wonder how long that would really take?

    • Yeh I’d love to give it about 3 months or so! Maybe even longer and stop off at places along the way! That’s the dream. Lol

    • Oh wow amazing! I bet that takes some time then! It’s a shame I live so far away but maybe one day I could head down and do it as a challenge. I wonder how long it would take to walk the whole thing at once..

      • A fit walker could do it in 6 weeks, but it would be tough and no rest days. You could do it more comfortably in 10 – 12 weeks and enjoy it more.
