Day 10 – Back to Kuta
One final group breakfast got me rising super early to meet the group. I felt rough but knew I just needed food. It was then my time to head for the boat back to the mainland. I sun creamed myself expecting to lay on top again only to find I was on a super fast boat almost like a speedboat and you had to stay downstairs 😦 so I slept the whole way instead.
The boat was followed by a bus straight to my hotel in which I also fell asleep the whole way. I don’t know what it is about me and transport.. I can sleep through anything!
I’d booked a spa hotel for the last night as a birthday treat for myself. It was quite expensive in comparison with other hotels in Kuta so I was looking forward to this.
I had no real plan for my final night just that I would bask in being there and enjoy every last minute of it.
Checked into the beautiful hotel and headed for Kuta beach stopping by at the pancake place Flapjaks for one last round of fattening pancakes before leaving.
When I reached Kuta beach the sun was already setting and this was definitely one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen and definitely the best one I’d seen in Bali so far. The sky was red and so pretty with people kayaking in the distance. The photos really don’t do it justice.
After soaking up the breathtaking sight I headed for my final dinner after doing some shopping to get rid of my leftover currency. Bought a lot of clothes so did some haggling with the locals!
I ended up in a mall where I saw a very nice restaurant named Nanna’s for dinner. I had one final beef steak with spaghetti where the server gave me chilli’s on the side.. I probably shouldn’t have put so many in the dish. Oops..
The dinner was lovely and even accomponied by a dinner show of people dancing in creepy masks. I sat here for a while thinking about how much I didn’t want to go home but they do say.. All good things come to an end 😦
