So our 4th day at Disneyland Paris started with a super early start and the most fantastic princess breakfast ever at The Regal View in Adventure World. We dined with Mulan, Belle, Merida and Ariel and I can’t think of a better way to start our final full Disney day! Read all about our morning in my previous post:

So today was our final chance to really explore the new World of Frozen and take it all in. We had no set plans for the day except our meals with a 12pm and 7pm reservation for lunch and dinner. Normally on our last day we just try to squeeze in all the things we haven’t yet fit in.

So first stop.. Frozen. Our little one, Hilda, was dressed as Anna today and we thought it might be a good chance to get some pics.

We had some things we still wanted to buy from the gift shops and we still hadn’t seen the Arendelle show so we thought with one coming up this would be a great time to tick a few boxes. When we arrived, there were already people gathering around the lake getting ready to watch the show featuring Olaf. We didn’t want to spend so much time queing or waiting so we took this chance to head to the nearby shops. We bought everything we need like T-Shirts, a scarf for me, magnets, pins and even a Christmas decoration of course! When we finally emerged it was crazy busy. I was expecting this but truth be told I just wasn’t overly bothered about watching the show. I’ve heard that it’s not worth the wait and the way it takes place on the lake means you have such a small chance of being able to see. Especially being such a little family. Whilst I couldn’t be bothered to stand by the railing 30-40 mins before it started I also knew we wouldn’t be able to see by joining the crowd afterwards. So we came out to hear Olaf and then wandered over the bridge and back towards The Regal View. Hilda got upset because she could hear him but not see him but even lifting her up didn’t fix the problem. The crowd was just too big!

I must add, there is a nice viewing area for children but adults are not allowed in so there was no way she was going to stay in there by herself. We tried but within 5 seconds she was asking me to follow her. So we came out and kept walking.

Not too long in to our walk away from the show we timed it perfectly because a boat came around the corner and we had a perfect view of Elsa and Anna arriving. Hilda waved at them both and it was a perfect coincidence.

Earlier in the day i’d managed to grab a spot in the Virtual Queue for Spider-Man at the Training Center. Typically, I just knew this was going to clash with our 12pm reservation. Problem with the VQ’s is you have no control over how long they take and you have no choice on whether you’d like to meet the character sooner or later. So I decided to chance it and first we headed to the restaurant to change our booking.

We were due to have lunch at Bistrot Chez Rémy and this is one of the hardest restaurants to get a booking for so there was no way I was risking losing it!

So first we headed over to the restaurant but it was closed. Being only 11am there was nobody around, just people queuing to take their chances on getting any reservation cancellations.

So whilst I couldn’t move the table we headed to the Training Center instead. I spoke to the cast member and explained the situation and they let us go in and be prioritised in hope that we’d make it out in time. We were so lucky to go ahead of bundles of people. We even had Loki and Thor stop to greet us from outside when we were waiting in line. That’s two moments today proving the best memories are unplanned.

Meeting Spider-Man is not something I ever would have considered personally but i’ve always been a fan of the movies. Ever since our daughter went on the Spider-Man ride when she’d only just turned 2 last year, she’s been obsessed with Spider-Man! I have no idea why, probably because he’s everywhere on kids clothing and what not but either way there was no way we could miss this. The day before she’d even mentioned she wanted to meet him so we knew we had to make it a priority!

She was super shy meeting him, although I can’t say i’m surprised! When you think about it, he’s pretty creepy looking! I had to go up with her but she had been practising her Spider-Man pose all holiday and she finally got to show it off, so that’s one for the photo album.

We were incredibly lucky to make it out on time and so we dashed over to Remy’s still full from our Regal View breakfast only a few hours ago!

By now we felt like we’d had the busiest morning and we were ready to sit down for a couple of hours and enjoy a change of scenery. I had high expectations for Bistrot Chez Remy!

I’m glad to say it did not disappoint. In fact it was our favourite meal of our whole trip. Let’s start by saying the decor was second to none. The chairs were even made from wine corks!

The food was exquisite, the drinks were deliciously strong for beer and cider and the presentation was the highlight! We both had steak as our main and it was wonderful.

We really enjoyed shrinking down to the size of a rat for our dining experience. Watching all the riders coming off the Ratatouille ride and peering through to us in the restaurant was a great touch and the attention to detail here was off the scale. Everything from the floor to the ceiling! Even the high chairs were thought about!

Obviously the food has to count for something and luckily it was delicious too so all around we were so happy with our experience – I’m really not surprised it’s so hard to get a reservation for!

After filling ourselves up to the brim we strolled around Toy Story Playland for a while. Of all the lands at Disney this is probably my favourite. The attention to detail here is great and with Toy Story being the first movie I ever saw at the cinema, it will always hold a special place in my heart!

This is where Hilda really discovered the power of a bubble machine and let loose on making sure everyone at Disneyland knew she had it.

Very apt because next we were heading for Minnies Dream Factory where I had no idea all of Hilda’s bubble dreams were about to come true.

The show was a new one for us and since I don’t like spoilers i’d not watched any trailers for this or read anything about it. A Disney first for me – I was kind of disappointed. This show had me bored and from the exhaustion of the day so far I could have so easily fallen asleep. That being said, with the music, variety of characters and fun factor I can see why it would be appealing for little ones. Hilda didn’t look particularly impressed being truthful but the bubbles was a nice touch and I don’t think she’d ever seen such big ones!

In hindsight, I look back on this moment and wish we’d have done something else but there’s no way we could have known without going to watch it. It’s always worth making your own mind up about something and Minnie is one our favourites so it was worth a stab in the dark.

Next we headed back to Toy Story Playland to meet Jessie. Currently Hilda is going through her Toy Story phase and so Jessie is currently one of her favourite characters. So there she was with her full blown pink Jessie dress on, complete with Jessie handbag all ready to meet her hero..

We got in the queue and it didn’t take long for me to notice it was going to take a while. Checking the app for queue times, I decided to chance running for Avengers Assemble single rider. This is a really cool super fast rollercoaster that Hilda is definitely too small to ride. So we always have to go on this solo and use parent switch to take it in turns. I thought I could run for the coaster, ride it then run back in time for the meet. Luckily I was right because as I got to the ride there was no queue in single rider at all so I was straight on! 5 minutes later and a dab of whiplash I was back in the queue for Jessie and i’d missed nothing.

The queue for Jessie took so long that we knew we were no longer going to make The Pixar show we were due to watch next. This was our last chance to catch it and i’d underestimated how long it would take to meet Jessie. With Hilda excited and all dressed for the character I just had to let the show slide and go with what felt right in the moment. So we stayed put.

It was finally time to meet her and she went straight in for a hug. This time Hilda had met enough characters to feel more comfortable and she wasn’t scared one bit.

This was a really great character meet and might have been down to Hilda’s dress. Jessie really engaged with her and was playful in her interaction. When she spotted the bag she started taking everything out of it and laughing at all the random bits Hilda had stored in her handbag. She loves to carry around little trinkets. When we got a group photo she stole my husbands Lotso headband and tried to put it on Hilda too. We got lots of fun photos!

Just as we’d finished and were about to leave Jessie spotted Hilda’s bubble wand and Hilda was so excited to show her it!

Our previous day, Hilda had really wanted to show Mickey her wand but we weren’t sure if bubbles would be allowed in his house so we got her to hide it. Same with Spider-Man earlier today. This time, because Jessie pointed it out they spent some time together and Hilda showed her how to make the bubbles work. It would have made for some fab photos only Hilda had already used all the mix earlier running around Playland instead! Oops… Typical!

So after our meeting with Jessie took far longer than anticipated we finally headed over to our final show – TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure. I knew it was a long shot and as expected we got to it and they turned us away as the queue was already full. We missed it by moments. I think Hilda would have loved this show because it’s all her favourite movies and characters in one place. We all love Pixar and i’ve never seen it! At least we have something to return for though as always.

After missing out on the show we played around in the parks a little. My husband and daughter chased each other around whilst I thought up a plan for our next move.

Me and Hilda decided to get our photo taken professionally by the photographers since we had already paid for a photopass and we did this whilst my husband popped over to ride Avengers Assemble via the Premier line thanks to parent switch earlier.

After this we decided there wasn’t really anything left we wanted to see and we were pretty tired from the long day. With our 7pm dinner on the horizon we decided to head back to our hotel room at Sequoia Lodge for a much needed rest.

Of course, en-route Hilda fell asleep in the pram and took the opportunity to prepare for the evening ahead. We were back in no time but my husband quickly started to feel unwell and then was sick. Was it food poisoning? We are still unsure. Time started getting closer to our reservation time and as we’d paid extra for our final meal to be a character dinner, we couldn’t miss it. We needed to ensure we went! But with Dec being sick, Hilda asleep and none of us really feeling it, we didn’t have many options.

So we got ourselves ready and headed out. On the way I stopped at Guest Relations in the hotel to ask if they could contact Royal Banquet to move our table back from 7pm so we had more time to be ready for it. Luckily they were able to accommodate and we moved it back to 8pm. That gave us a bit of time to make our way into the parks and hopefully feel better before the dinner. We had our party frocks on and Hilda looked like a princess!

We headed straight for Disneyland Park and I wanted to catch the last Splash of Colour Parade as we hadn’t seen it before. By some miracle we happened to be in the right place at the right time because right as Dec went to use the toilet, me and Hilda darted over to a small crowd forming. We realised they were just opening the gates as the parade was starting from the entrance of the parks rather than the usual spot over near Fantasyland. So we had timed this perfectly. Dec oblivious to where we’d gone, he came out to find us on the other side of the road and unable to get to us now as between us both was the parade.. Oops!

I couldn’t believe our luck to end up right on the front row of a parade with very minimal crowds. I think because it had rained a lot of the park had emptied but also because it was part of a show a lot were waiting up by the castle instead.

Hilda had the perfect view of all her favourites and they really were our favourites! We had Asha from Wish and Stitch on the same parade. Moana and even Aladdin who we’d met this trip. Hilda could wave to all the characters and actually see without moving from her pram!

It was a short parade and we moved with it to watch it head towards the castle for the show.

I really liked the floats and the fact the characters were different to those in the daytime parade. It was a nice difference from the usual we watch.

I’m so glad we caught this one and actually were able to see it too! Once we got down to the castle it was much busier but a great atmosphere and we could still see them all on the stage. The vibe got us in the mood for dancing and my husband was feeling much better. I think the parade really cheered us all up!

After the show, the crowd dispersed and we were left by the castle with some time to spare before our dinner. We were in a great mood and the sun was finally shining! We had lots of fun playing around being silly and got some pics in front of the castle.

I will always remember this moment because it’s my last memory of being at the castle and on our final night we were feeling that weird kind of happy sad. You always get it on the last day of your holiday where you’re saying goodbye! But for us we knew it would just be a see you later..

Our final dinner was booked for the Royal Banquet at Disneyland Hotel. I was super excited because I’ve heard so much about the hotel and how exclusive it is. I was excited just to step inside and see what it was like. Instantly you could feel the 5 star quality! It all felt so fancy even just walking down the corridors. We headed for the toilets before going in and I bumped into Donald just running down the hallway. It was bizarre!

When we headed for the queue we saw Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen wander in to the lobby area. The hotel is so exquisite that it really offers that valuable experience that you don’t get from other Disney hotels. It comes with a high price tag so i’d expect nothing less. Whilst we waited for our 8pm table we had characters come out to join us in the queue. They were just playing around chasing each other but Hilda even met Minnie before we went inside. It was a nice indication of what was to come.

When we finally got seated it was later than we anticipated and we lost a lot of park time due to us pushing back the reservation time. We got seated by the window and I thought this was amazing at first, being able to see the castle but I soon realised this was the case for most of the tables. The disadvantage of where we were seated was it was incredibly compact. Just taking my seat felt difficult. We were so squashed into the corner there wasn’t even room for a high chair! I really didn’t like our seat and was concerned how the characters would even get in to greet us.

Our first character meet was Goofy and due to the sheer lack of space around us, he actually sat down next to me because it was easier. It made for a great photo at least!

This was our first character dinner ever and we only had the breakfasts to compare it to. My expectations were perhaps too high but that was based on the price tag. I had high hopes for this experience and it was my daughters birthday meal so we were celebrating too!

Meeting the characters was fun and I love the photos with how pretty Hilda looks in her princess Minnie dress and the royal outfits on the characters.

The desserts were absolutely spectacular. We were sat right by the dessert section of the buffet and the characters took so long to come to us that it’s safe to say we tasted a lot of them!

I couldn’t believe it when I saw they had Star biscuits! The movie Wish that features the character Star was not popular. It was released the year Disney turned 100 years old and is one of the few Disney movies (if not only Disney movie) that doesn’t involve a romantic storyline. It’s got an amazing soundtrack and we even used one of the songs for the first dance at our wedding! It was released the year my daughter was born and it was the first Disney movie she ever saw at the cinema. Not that I expect her to remember that but we saw it on Mothers Day which makes it super special for me.

The food was mostly a seafood buffet but I enjoyed a lovely chicken curry and steak. A random selection as always from me when it comes to buffet food, plus i’m not one for seafood anyway! Hilda ate lots from her special Mickey plate too.

Overall the character interactions were fun but the cramped positioning completely ruined it for us. It was hard to get good photographs without stepping back in to the buffet and getting in the way of people. The characters took too long to get around to us and after 2 hours, Hilda was literally crawling under the table with boredom. It was very frustrating. Truth be told it really ruined our final night and put a dampner on the trip. I didn’t complain to anyone at the time but I did have to get an attendant to bring the final character (Donald) over otherwise we could have been waiting even longer!

Whilst it might look like ample space to move, my husband actually had to use the cameras zoom out function (0.5) to get us both in the picture! That’s how close we all were!

Whilst the meet didn’t live up to expectations, the setting sure did. Sitting at the window and looking out to the castle will always be in my memory and was such a special experience to share with my daughter.

By the time we left the restaurant it was gone 10pm. The park was due to close at 10:50pm and the fireworks would be around then too. We looked at queue times and knew realistically we’d only have time for one ride. This was unfortunate as there were still so many rides we wanted to do! We genuinely thought we’d have a few hours to enjoy but it didn’t work out that way unfortunately.

So we made our decision and it was time to hop on Pirates of the Caribbean for one last time. One of our absolute favourite rides with barely ever a queue to wait in. We love seeing the photo at the end too because of Hilda’s face the first time we ever took her on. Now we aim to beat it every time. This was to be the second time riding this trip and whilst we could have finally gone on Peter Pan for the first time – With only a 20 minute queue (Normally it’s up at 90)! We had already entered the queue for Pirates. When I realised the opportunity I tried to turn us around only for Hilda to get really upset and say she wanted to go on Pirates instead. So Pirates it was..

When we came out of Pirates the whole park was closed but the fireworks had just started so we watched them from Frontierland on our way back to Main Street. It was nice to be able to catch them one last time.

When we headed for Main Street we were venturing towards the exit. We stopped outside a restaurant where we had a nice view of the castle and fireworks but with lots of space. Dec and Hilda started to dance to the music from Encanto and I had no idea it would become one of the most memorable moments of our entire trip. It was the perfect end to our final night at Disney. After their moment in the spotlight once the fireworks had finished and the park began to empty a Cast Member came over to say watching them was the cutest thing they’d seen all day. It really made me appreciate how lucky I am to have such a beautiful family.

We walked slowly towards the exit and Hilda spent her birthday money in the gift shops on the way out choosing some little things to take home. It was cute watching her pick some bits out. We took a few final pictures and then said goodbye to Mickey and all our new friends at the exit.

I don’t know how she’s always so full of energy still at 11pm. It must be something to do with Disney magic.

Heading back to our hotel we did the slow and sad walk where the holiday is at it’s end only this time we were ready to depart. It had been a busy few days and we’d done so much in that time, we were ready to say goodbye!

I enjoyed the cheeky Star biscuits i’d slipped into my bag earlier for the walk back. Bonus that they were tasty as well as cute!

Day 5 ~ Going Home

I debated writing a separate post for our final day but I realised we didn’t do very much on Day 5. We checked out of Sequoia Lodge after our hotel breakfast then popped our luggage into storage before going for one last wander. We were going to meet the character at our hotel but it ended up being Minnie who we’d met on Day 1 in the same spot. So, we decided to check out Newport Bay as we’ve never been there before. It was a nice short stroll along the lake and we saw Donald in the lobby. We didn’t queue to meet him but Hilda waved goodbye and we headed towards Disney Village afterwards. Some of my favourite photos of Hilda are from this morning as she wanted to pose in front of various flowerbeds and posters.

The final thing I did before heading home is entering World of Adventure one last time to grab all the merchandise I’d not yet managed to buy. I also wanted to get Hilda a souvenir Mickey i’d eyed in the shops earlier. I knew she’d love the surprise and she looked after him all the way back to the UK.

It was a great second family trip to Disneyland Paris and we did so much in just a few days. I already can’t wait to return even if it is a few years away until we will.

Hilda had the most amazing 3rd birthday celebrations and we walk away with the greatest memories from our trip in 2026 once again.
