It was bright and early on a Wednesday morning in June and we were getting ourselves ready for a moment i’d been looking forward to most on our Disneyland Paris trip. We were heading to the brand new Regal View Restaurant & Lounge in Disney’s Adventure World!

This restaurant only opened in March 2026, so to head there just 3 months into it opening, it felt like a privilege to be one of the first through it’s doors. I know thousands of visitors will have been inside before us but it’s not often I get to say I visited a Disney attraction the year it opened. Especially one that I know will be around for many years to come.
The Regal View offers the unique chance to dine with Disney princesses with a twist. Instead of wearing their princess gowns like they do throughout the parks and at Auberge de Cendrillon, they can be seen in their ‘adventure gear’. This means the outfits you see them in for their everyday clothes. It was a gamble for my two year old, Hilda, whether she would recognise them or not. Princesses in big dresses have the wow factor. I remember going to a farm in the UK earlier this year and Hilda got majorly excited about seeing a princess. Turns out it was just Bo Peep looking for her sheep. Big dress = Princess in the eyes of a toddler!
So on the lead up to our trip I started reading more Disney books and getting Hilda used to seeing the princesses in their ‘normal’ clothes. I’ve seen a lot of people skip this restaurant all together because of the clothing but I really wanted to dine here and see the beautiful interior i’d heard so much about.
So we rocked up to Adventure World bright and early for our 8:15am sitting before the parks officially opened. Luckily we knew where we were going thanks to all the days we’d spent in the same park already this week.

Arriving was instantly exciting. There’s a certain buzz about going somewhere brand new. Even though we were late as usual, there was a queue at the door already!
When we made it inside, the place was so beautiful. I’d heard about how nicely decorated it all was but i’d not looked at any pictures because I didn’t want to spoil it for myself. I hate spoilers!

Despite taking a little while to enter and thankfully being late made no difference, I was surprised at how empty the place was when we got inside. There were a lot of empty tables which I love when a place isn’t too crowded. It made it easier to look at all the beautiful paintings as we made our way to our table.

The moment we entered, Hilda and I decided we needed the toilet. Nervous we’d miss the first princess, we headed to the bathrooms and rushed to make it back in time. I knew we wouldn’t get missed because the Disney Cast Members mark off who has met who. But, I also knew my husband would be nervous that a princess would come over and try talk to him on his own and he’d feel like a melon sat there alone haha. So we rushed back to see Merida only a table away from being at ours.
Looking at the photo you can see where we were seated in the middle of the room but we still had plenty of space to feel away from everyone. We loved our table, it felt private. Besides, just look at the fantastic decor! The whole place was decorated so extravagantly.

When we got back to the table, Merida moved on to some other tables which gave us time to receive our breakfast. They asked Hilda if she’d like some pancakes which was a nice surprise as technically she was too young to charge for so shouldn’t be given any food. Of course I’m not going to complain at any freebies! Then it all started to arrive and it was presented so elegantly.

My husband and I don’t lead a lavish lifestyle at all so we are easily impressed. We save all the treats and splurges for holidays like this one because I think if you have it too often it takes the fun out of it. Everything feels special on holiday as it is out of the ordinary for us. So a restaurant breakfast at the cost this set us back is definitely a treat to saviour and make the most of.

After our breakfast arrived, we shared it between ourselves. I ordered the savoury option which was smoked salmon, ham, bacon, egg and muffin. My husband ordered the sweet option with pancakes and fruit. Hilda also got pancakes and they asked her if she wanted chocolate sauce. Surprisingly she declined but when they arrived, they were covered in chocolate sauce! They must be used to kids always saying yes. I don’t know if this is why she didn’t eat them or because she was too excited but amongst us we ate all the food. Hilda really enjoyed nibbling bits of our breakfast. Since she’s such an adventurous eater she stole my salmon. She even enjoyed her own little hot chocolate!

Part-way into our breakfast, the first princess arrived at our table. Finally, we were going to meet Merida from the Pixar movie, Brave. I don’t think Hilda has ever seen this movie but Merida is in a few of the books we’ve read and she has a figure of her at home so I believe she recognised her. I also tried to explain to Hilda who she was before she met her just to make it a little bit easier.
Before we came to this restaurant I was a little bit worried that she might not recognise the princesses. Luckily, that wasn’t the case. I also worried about what we would say. Would it be awkward? Actually, I didn’t need to worry because the actors that are paid to be these princesses are obviously experts and they know how to engage families and keep everybody talking. So, when Merida arrived at our table obviously, all the attention went to Hilda.
She was talking to Hilda about the adventures she’s been on with her brothers. She was trying to get Hilda to show her strong arms and doing different poses all relating back to the movie. Hilda can be quite shy when she meets new people so she just stood there in awe of Merida, which was cute.

I think Hilda likes meeting the characters, especially If they’re quite chatty with her. I tried to get Hilda involved with the conversation mentioning her brothers being bears. I normally talk a little bit for her because it’s probably really awkward for anyone to talk to a three-year-old who doesn’t talk back.
I felt Merida was a really good princess for us to get first because she was really good at playing the part with her Scottish accent. She also really looked the part. I know she was probably wearing a wig but her hair looked really good and a real accurate, portrayal of Merida from Brave. Obviously, this is lost on Hilda at this age but as she gets older and looks back at the photos, she might appreciate it.

After the conversation, we took some photos. I always try to get a picture of Hilda with the character alone before getting into the picture so that we have a family one too. At this breakfast, my husband probably wasn’t going to get in the photos and we were okay with just us girls!
After meeting Merida we were on a high and we started to see the other princesses walking around the tables; so we had an indication of who would be coming to us next. It was really exciting the atmosphere in the air. Most likely the majority of people in the room, including us, were here visiting for the first time.
Having only been opened a few months it was all very exciting because you just know that everybody’s experiencing this for the first time. Even the princesses have only been there for such a short while. It’s a new job for them! I felt so lucky to be able to be there.
As we continued with our breakfast the next princess to arrive near our table was Ariel; The Little Mermaid. She wasn’t dressed as a mermaid obviously but instead wearing the dress that she wears when she becomes a human.

I knew that Hilda would recognise Ariel because she is one of her favourites despite her hair not being bright red (it was more of a natural red). Ariel floated over and did a little ‘bit’. We’ve seen this before with Princess Aurora at Auberge de Cendrillon yesterday. I wrote about this here.

Disneyland Paris: Day 3 – From Cinderella’s Castle to the streets of Agrabah
Another day at Disneyland Paris this time starting with princesses at Auberge de Cendrillon and ending with Aladdin at Agrabah Cafe
The speech she did was only short and she mentioned how she’d been swimming that morning and seeing her Prince Eric. Something so simple yet all the kids hung on every word. Hilda was watching her like she was absolutely fascinated and it just set the tone for the meet. I thought it was a really great way to start the interaction.

When Ariel came to our table I can’t really remember what we talked about but it was another cute interaction and Hilda, really enjoyed it. Ariel got down to the level of the table and had a good chat with her.
Hilda has now mentioned a few times how she’s met The Little Mermaid. Being one of her favourites I think it will always stick with her. She’s got some nice photos too that she can treasure forever.

During breakfast. I took quite a lot of photographs of Hilda and my husband enjoying the meal. It felt like a luxury to be in such a nice setting. I really wanted to make the most of it and get some photographs with a beautiful background. All the paintings were so exquisite. I love how they’ve combined all the princesses in their Adventure gear to create such wonderful paintings.

We could see that the next princess we were going to meet was Belle. One of my personal favourites because I love Beauty and the Beast the movie. I did wonder whether Hilda would have any idea who she was though.
Obviously Belle is extremely recognisable in her giant yellow dress and we’d seen Belle yesterday in the Mickey and the Magician show featuring Beauty and the Beast but whether Hilda would put two and two together and know it was the same person.. I don’t know.
When Belle came over to our table she went straight to Hilda who was sitting with me this time. Sometimes it can be like a game of musical chairs at our table with how often a three year old needs to change places! Since she was sat with me this time, I had the chance to dip into the conversation and help her with prompts like ‘look it’s Belle who we saw yesterday with the Beast’. Belle would then start talking about how she was wearing her pretty ball gown last night for a party. A little role play is cute especially when Hilda gets into it as she really believes what she’s being told.

I had bought Hilda some little hair bobbles for her birthday and one of these was yellow with Belle in her ball gown on. As Hilda was holding it, she showed it to Belle who was very excited to look at this. It made the interaction special as it helped Hilda to see who she was and have a physical momentum to take away too. She still has the bobbles now and has the memory of sharing them with the princesses because she did the same the previous day with Princess Aurora.

The final princess to come to our table was Mulan and I couldn’t remember if Hilda had watched the movie yet. Mulan isn’t featured in as many of the books as the other princesses. All the pictures that we see on greetings cards, posters, bedding.. It’s always the same usual pretty in pink princesses! Normally the classics.

So I wasn’t actually sure if Hilda would know who Mulan was. Then I remembered I have a Mushu shoulder buddy which I wore for most of my Disneyland Paris trip in 2025. I bought it from here and was kicking myself for not bringing it with me to this meal. I’m sure it would have been a conversation starter for Hilda since she has definitely taken a liking to my Mushu buddy!
So Mulan came over and Hilda did the usual where she was very quiet. What caught me off guard however was how chatty Mulan was! She was easily, by miles the best character interaction we had all trip. She came straight over to Hilda and talked to her about so many things. She was talking about the medal she was wearing and showing Hilda it. She was letting her hold it too.

I mentioned Mushu and how Hilda was a big fan and this helped the conversation flow too. I felt this interaction was great because they talked to each other and it was the first time we’d seen her be so comfortable. It’s amazing what a difference a character can make by really playing the part well.

Again. I can’t remember exactly what they talked about, but this was one of the longer meets and they had a lot of photos. Hilda got down from her seat and Mulan actually asked for a hug so Hilda walked over to do this. Now with them both on the same level they were able to communicate easier and I think this is what made the interaction so valuable and so special.
After Mulan we knew that that was all the four princesses we were going to meet. It had only taken 40 minutes in total but it felt like ages.
After we finished our breakfast we were one of the last families to leave. We never feel like we’re in a rush at Disney; we don’t leave places early so that we can get to the next ride or jump in the next queue. We like to really appreciate the moment that we’re in. So we decided to explore the restaurant, see the rest of the room and some of the decor. We took some photos and walked across the dining room where most people had left. Again, the portraits on the wall were absolutely beautiful… As you can see!

As we walked around. We headed to the windows. It would have been nice to get a window seat but I don’t think it would have changed the experience and it might have even caused glare in the photos. Through the window, the view is lovely. You can see out to Adventure way and the lake looking over at the World of Frozen. It’s a really stunning setting.

When we started to walk back towards our table (where we’d left my husband I should add!) We saw that some of the princesses were heading off. First came Belle and Hilda started to wave at her… She waved back! It was very cute. I was glad we got this extra interaction.

Hilda likes to say bye to people and she loves waving so I always enjoy seeing her face when people wave back.
What happened next I never expected. We turned to walk back to our table and saw Mulan again. She was heading towards the exit and turned to see Hilda waving at her. She stopped, crouched down and held out her arms. Hilda started running towards her, arms opened wide and went straight in for a hug. It was adorable.

I wasn’t expecting this at all but I was filming it just by sheer chance. It was one of the cutest things that happened on our whole trip. She really leaned into the hug. This meant Hilda must have felt really comfortable with Mulan and whilst I know they’re not really princesses, in that moment this will be one of those memories that she will probably look back on for her whole childhood. It was really special and then Mulan noticed Hilda’s birthday badge. I think Hilda really wanted to show her this as she’d been carrying it around for days.
So Mulan picked up the badge and put it on her dress. It took a little bit of time; it was a bit fiddly. But, she was comparing the badge to her medal as they were both round. Even now, months after the interaction Hilda still talks about how Mulan put her birthday badge on.
Hilda has a knack for always remembering really unusual things.

Now that we’d met all the princesses multiple times it was time to head out.
So, we walked back towards the door admiring the rest of the restaurant. What an incredible start to our last day at Disneyland Paris. I think you can plan how you might start your morning but you never really know how it will turn out. When I say this was a perfect start to the day, It really was.
I don’t think I could have made it better in any way. It’ll be difficult to top this experience and I’m so glad we booked the Regal View character breakfast.
Perhaps, we will return for dinner sometime in the future and Hilda may even have a new favourite princess by then too.. Only time will tell.
