A new chapter – My growing family

Last month, I turned the page and started a whole new chapter in my life.

It was June 2023 and I gave birth to my daughter Hilda! Welcoming her into our world ready for an adventure.

Since she arrived our lives have been turned upside down. I’m not going to lie and say it’s been a bed of roses but more of a smelly bed of sick, poop and breast milk.

She is by miles bringing the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced. This applies to both me personally and to my partner and I as a couple. If you want to test the strength of your relationship – This is one way to do it!

It’s been 3 weeks and I can already see that our life has completely changed and will continue to do so. We have created this beautiful tiny human who is a part of both of us and I’m so proud.

Just as our lives have altered, I expect my blogging will too. Gone are the days of backpacking solo – Replaced with family friendly hotels. I’m no stranger to change as I ditched this lifestyle when we got our beloved dog Newkee. Now the family has grown and we will continue to do what we love – Go on adventures! They just might look a little different now.

A couple of years ago I rebranded my blog to be more tailored to lifestyle and a variety of travel styles to reflect my growth. Instead of a focus on backpacking my blog became So Beau – A journal of all things in my life and the beautiful world we live in. I will continue to blog about travel as always but I imagine my adventures will look a little different going forward.

If you are still interested in local walks, places to visit, dog friendly venues and now children friendly experiences then stay tuned and continue to follow my story! I blog for me, my mental health, my future self but also for those few followers that take something away from my posts. I love reading your comments so please join me as I enter this next chapter of my life, I’m sure it will be an interesting one!

Blogging with my hands full!

Blogging is harder with a munchkin to juggle but I’ve set myself a goal of writing more during my MAT leave. Whilst I’m not going to work, this gives me a little bit of focus to keep an element of me in my weeks before I’m consumed by motherhood.

So wish me luck! It might take me far longer to finish a blog post now but together we will get there!
