Happy 2024!

The snow is drifting in and in England today it’s bloody freezing! Feeling extra cold given that I spent last week in the Canaries!

So I kicked off this year on the sunny island of Lanzarote. I hope to blog about this at some point but truthfully finding any hands free time with a 7 month old baby is near impossible!

But this 2024 is set to be a great one. I had a wonderful first holiday abroad with my little one born in 2023 and we have even more planned for this year too. (Including getting married for starters!)

My blog has definitely taken a backseat. I’ve not forgotten about it, in fact I receive a daily reminder of my statistics. I just struggle to find any time to write any more. I tend to share photographs instead. I love capturing the little (and big) moments in photos that I can post in seconds.

Sweet treats in Lanzarote last week

One thing that continues to amaze me though, is the fact I get visitors to my blog daily. I can see which articles are most popular and what people are reading. It may not be high numbers but I love that the demand to read about certain places is still there.

As I mentioned in my last post, my life has changed completely with the arrival of my daughter in 2023. Therefore my travel style has changed too.

Last summer we took her on her first holiday to Wales for a caravan break. It was brilliant and we loved it. I’ll definitely be doing that again and I hope to share my stories on here soon.

For now, I’ve decided to take a more local approach.

One thing I LOVE about going on holiday is discovering all the local hotspots. Sitting in little cafes, bars and venues. We can do this in our home country but we often don’t bother. It is something I’ve wanted to do during my maternity leave and now that baby Hilz is 7 months old she is a little easier to take out and about.

So this year I’ll be exploring establishments on my doorstep and writing about them on here. I’m looking forward to becoming a tourist in my own country and having some adventures along the way.

If you have any recommendations for things to do in Yorkshire please let me know! Happy 2024 all and I hope this year brings everything you want and more!
