Saying goodbye to my backpack!

4 years it has been since I started my blog One Sophie – One Backpack.

And what a journey I have been on since..

It was 2015 and I was about to embark on my biggest adventure yet; a one way trip around the world!

From London to India, India to Thailand, Thailand to Singapore, Singapore to Australia and who knows where I would end up.. I was only 25 and had the whole world ahead of me, literally.

If you’ve followed my travels since I started backpacking you’ll know I’ve been travelling a lot longer than my blog has been around. 10 years to be precise. And guess what… I never tire of it!

The first photo I ever posted on my travel page 5 years ago is something I still swear by:

“Every day is a new adventure”

And where there is adventure, there is always something to write about.

So what has changed?

Well,… Me. I have changed.

I have grown older, I’ve learnt lessons, I’ve experienced different ways of life, I’ve made it through tough times, I’ve climbed mountains (also literally) and I’ve made it through the end with a whole new perspective.

But not only have I changed in myself, my method of travel has also changed. My interests have changed and even my style of writing has grown up with me!

I used to be all about travelling the world. As if you needed to be on the other side of the globe to experience a new culture. I was wrong, adventure starts the moment I step outside now.

It doesn’t matter where I’m going, it’s that I’m doing something I enjoy and in my case experiencing somewhere new no matter where it might be on the planet.

So as I enter the final year of my 20s next week, I am ditching my backpack!

Setting off to travel Asia in 2017

And for the first time in this post, I don’t mean that literally..

I mean I have decided to give One Sophie – One Backpack a makeover!

I have had so much fun travelling around the UK this year and last. I’ve loved the city breaks to Europe I’ve been lucky enough to go on. Holidays with friends. Hikes alone or with whoever will join me. I’m even getting used to the life as a puppy parent consisting of daily walks and dog friendly pubs!

But one thing is for certain, my life is full of so much more than backpacking.

I have decided to give my blog a rebranding! So if you don’t recognise any of the links or names used suddenly, don’t panic, it’s just a work in progress.

Don’t get me wrong, not much will change. The content will always revolve around my travels. I’m sure if you have read my recent posts you’ll have noticed I am open to all kinds of experiences and I’m definitely excited to see where the future takes me.

My name is Sophie Beaumont and I do believe that life is so beautiful.

    • Thank you so much! I was debating this for ages as So Beau has been my nickname throughout various points in my life, including school! And I just wasn’t sure if it was right for my blog or not but no turning back now! Haha
