A stroll around West Pentire

Down in Cornwall at the start of this month we visited Agnes Beach and Newquay. But we also took a walk around West Pentire.

On our drive back to Newquay from Agnes Beach we stopped to visit Crantock beach. A place we’d heard many people mention as one of the best beaches to visit in Cornwall!

We didn’t actually walk along the beach as we visited at high tide and were very distracted by the beautiful surroundings!

Firstly, we parked at Bogey Inn. A very cute pub overlooking beautiful views where you can enjoy a good meal. We ate here later so can vouch for it! Very reasonably priced too. The kind of place you can visit and definitely feel like you’re on holiday!

The staff members in the Inn told us the best way to go to reach the South West Coast Path and to get the most out of the walk. So we followed their directions and was not disappointed!

We started by walking along a path behind the Inn which lead us through fields just blooming with colour!

Besides the beautiful fields of yellow, I also got to see my first poppy fields!

The path lead in many different directions and I’d love to revisit in the future to explore the other options.

We took the path that lead us over to Polly Joke Beach.

Far reaching views of the coast can be enjoyed all the way along the walk and it is definitely worth the visit. I’d love to spend more time here next time.

We followed the South West Coast Path up and down as it winds towards Crantock Beach.

Finally we enjoyed a well deserved pint of Cornwall’s very own cider.. The Rattler!

That was one very refreshing pint!

  1. Fabulous part of the country isn’t it Sophie? Everywhere you turn there are great beaches and walks and pubs. You need to get back and walk that coastal path.

    • Yeh I really can’t wait to go back! Unfortunately probably won’t be for a year at least now with us living so far away!
