Well they say everything happens for a reason and I truly believe that more and more each year.
Last month I found myself very unexpectedly and suddenly with no job. What better way to take a look at my direction in life and choose which path to take! I have pondered working within the travel sector for many years and it has been something literally everyone in my life has suggested I do.
“Why don’t you work in travel?
You’ll get free holidays!” – Everyone
Well it’s not about free holidays for me (although I wouldn’t complain). For me I’ve always fallen in to roles just for the sake of working. I’ve found myself working just to live and that is something you should never do! So with the advice of my friends I made the choice to move in to a sector I have always wanted to work within. I took a step back from the energy industry I have spent the last 2 years developing my knowledge in and I have just gone for a fresh start.
One door closes and another one opens and in my case… the right door 🙂
I only started my new career last week but I have already learnt the following:
Perks of working in the travel industry
Talking about your favourite subject every day! ❤
Cons of working in the travel industry
Feeling like you want to go EVERYWHERE.
Of course I’m kidding, it’s awesome talking about travel everyday and spending most hours looking at maps. I’ve already seen a few trips I want to go on and been inspired to visit some other destinations around Europe.
My only regret here is that I didn’t take the plunge sooner! But, you live and you learn!
Wow ! That was wroth a read. Thank you much for sharing !
