Before we went to Disneyland Paris I uhmmed and ahhed over what to do about food. We were staying in Sequoia Lodge and after deciding to add on breakfast I started to wonder if I should add even more meals.. So here is my guide to Disney dining and what I recommend to make the most out of your trip to Disneyland Paris.

We went to Disneyland Paris with a Half Board Plus Dining Plan because after doing some research, I found this to be the most cost-effective way of eating out. I wanted to try some of the restaurants and knew that it would be cheaper to add the dining plan than to go visit them and pay separately.
The Meal Plan has various options and you can read all about them on the official website here. Be sure to check the site for the latest information. I went for Half Board Plus which includes breakfast at the hotel then lunch or dinner in the restaurant of my choice. It was Plus because that’s what comes with Sequoia Lodge. If you stay at Santa Fe or Davy Crockett Ranch the default is Half Board Standard.
The way it works at Disneyland Paris is that if you have a dining plan, this doesn’t mean you have to have lunch or dinner everyday… This means that you are given a set amount of vouchers that correlate to how many nights you are staying at a Disney hotel. So for us, we stayed 4 nights which included 4 breakfasts at Sequoia Lodge and 4 additional meal vouchers per paying person (Under 3s not included). You can use the vouchers at any point during your stay and even multiple in one day.
And so began my search for the best restaurants and how to make the most of our meal vouchers. I spoke to my sister who had recently been to Disney in October 2024. She recommended Bistrot Chez Rémy. In the Ratatouille area of Disney Studios. After researching this I thought it looked amazing! The theme of this restaurant is really cool and I always appreciate a personal recommendation. You are shrunk down to the size of Remi the rat and surrounded by human sized objects! You can’t go view this unless you have a reservation either.
Unfortunately, this is one of the most popular restaurants because the decor Is brilliant. This meant that I couldn’t actually book a table despite me attempting to book tables 3 months in advance. Everything was fully booked for every single day and at anytime… So this was off the cards. If you want to visit here, pre-book way in advance..

No worries, there’s plenty more restaurants I thought. I started to watch YouTube videos. I found a lot of the same restaurants being recommended. But like anything, some restaurants would appear in both the most recommended list AND the worst to visit. So as always, I decided that I needed to make my own mind up.
Nothing is easier than a buffet when it comes to dining with a toddler! It’s more enjoyable for all of us and certainly beats eating at fast food joints all the time! So I did lots of research on the best places to eat within the parks.
It is expected that 2 year olds eat from your plate and in our case this would definitely be beneficial since she loves to stuff her face. We knew if we booked buffets we could have her eating as much food as she wanted with no cost to us!

We arrived very late on the 1st day and didn’t use any of our vouchers. We ate at Earl of Sandwich instead – My favourite Food place on Disney property! I lived off Earl’s food during my time in Florida and with outlets all over America it was always my go to for travelling the States too. This place doesn’t just do some of the tastiest food but it also one of the cheapest food spots at Disney if you don’t fancy a McDonalds. I highly recommend giving this a shot if you want to save some money but also get something fresh. Besides, the brownies are to die for! You’ll find Earl of Sandwich just outside of the parks located in Disney Village instead.

I planned this move in advance so I could keep two vouchers for the final day and plan accordingly.
When it comes to booking restaurants you have to get in early. Anyone staying in a Disney hotel can book reservations 12 months in advance! This means the popular restaurants go super fast. Just like Disney specify on their website ‘Our tables go like hotcakes’ and this is especially true for their newest all you can eat buffet at Downtown Restaurant in the new Marvel themed hotel – Hotel New York. Not surprising with a Marvel theming and Italian food this is the first restaurant to get fully booked up. Despite me booking our holiday even further in advance of 12 months, I didn’t know this nugget of information until it was too late. No Downtown reservation for me!
So let’s talk about where we did eat, where you should eat and where you shouldn’t!

“Beating the mouse”
There is a famous saying amongst Disney goers when it comes to the parks. To beat the Mouse means maximizing your expenditure to get the most out of your dining plan. Of course it is more relevant at Walt Disney World where the use of snack credits and drinks comes into play but you can still play this game in Paris too. If you are going to eat at Quick Service restaurants to use your dining plan, you’ll save time but you’d be better off skipping the dining plan and paying as you go. Otherwise you risk spending more on the Dining Plan than you would have paying seperately!
Firstly, it’s important to note the price of the meals you are booking by looking at the menus. This is crucial to get the most out of your dining plan.

So let’s look at the key restaurants you want to secure a table at if you really want to get your money’s worth. All options listed below are included in the Plus or Premium Dining Plan and take only one meal voucher. Below you can really see the variety and why many book their tables months in advance to ensure they make the most of this. All prices were right at the time of writing (May 2026). If I was to give you some advice I’d recommend reservations at Walt’s, Downtown and Remy’s. Whilst i’ve not eaten at the last two, I’ve heard many raving about them. Walt’s was beautiful interior and great food and interesting history but gets booked up quickly. If you can’t get a table at Downtown try the ever-popular PYM Kitchen. My personal favourite is Agrabah Cafe if you are a little more adventurous with your food. Leave the hotel buffets for the visits where you don’t have the dining plan.

Character Meals
When you have a Disney Dining Plan you have the option to upgrade to a character meal. Absolutely worthwhile if you want to skip the queues and meet characters that come to you for a change!
We upgraded our Sequoia Lodge breakfast one morning to the Character Breakfast at Plaza Gardens. The upgrade fee was £20 per adult and it was completely worth it (Price correct for June 2025). Check out my blog post all about the experience below.
Disneyland Paris: Day 3 – A breakfast to remember
Meeting Minnie Mouse and friends! Starting the day with an exciting character breakfast at Plaza Gardens.
For a lot of 2026, Plaza Gardens is closed for refurbishment. This is a real shame as the most affordable character dining. It also means there are no restaurants where you can meet all your favourite characters in their usual clothing. The alternative buffet option is Royal Banquet but with a hefty price tag and no breakfast option, this isn’t a brilliant alternative. The experience is meant to be amazing but definitely more of an upgrade than anything and features characters in their royal clothing.
Brand new for 2026, The Regal View Restaurant in Disney Adventure World offers the opportunity to dine with princesses in their adventure outfits. Ditching the ball gowns, this is a great change from the usual princess meets. There are limited reviews on the place since it’s only been open a couple of months but I imagine the shiny new restaurant will be very popular. The interior looks beautiful and overlooking the lake, this restaurant promises a fine dining experience. You can upgrade to a table at this restaurant using one of your meal vouchers on the Plus Dining Plan too! The cost is £28.35 for breakfast and £48.72 for dinner. During the meal you will meet up to 4 princesses and the price includes table service – Starter, Main and Dessert but no drink. It’s a high price so is it worth it? Time will tell and hopefully I’ll be able to confirm once I’ve visited myself!
Auberge de Cendrillon offers the same options at the same price as above (prices correct at time of writing). This restaurant is located in Disneyland Park and offers the opportunity to meet two to three princesses in their ball gowns. There are reports of meeting Cinderella’s two mice sometimes and Mickey is due to appear during the absence of Plaza Gardens. Based on recent reviews it seems this venue can be a bit hit and miss for princesses with some days offering more than others and the food having mixed reviews. Again, I will blog about my experience once I’ve been!

Where did I eat?
So following on from my earlier mention of Earl of Sandwich, on our last day we knew we’d have 2 vouchers left to use and needed to eat out twice instead of our usual one meal after breakfast. So I was very excited to try out some more Disney food places. On our first 2 days, we ate at buffets. If it was up to me, we’d do this every day because it was great for our daughter to be able to eat as much as she wanted. With the added bonus being that we didn’t have to pay for her. She loves a good buffet and so do we because you can fill your boots!
When I was researching where to eat at the Disneyland Parks, there was a sheer lack of buffet restaurants. In fact, in Disney Studios there is only one buffet restaurant. This is Pym Kitchen, which I wrote about on my blog here.
This was a great all-you-can-eat buffet with fun theming. The super-size food was quirky and the mini burgers were super tasty!

As we’d already eaten here, I didn’t want to eat at the same place twice and wanted to make the most of our days at the parks and fully experience all the restaurants that we could. We ate at Agrabah Cafe on our first full day and you can read about it here.
Our experience at Agrabah’s was brilliant. We loved the step in to the world of Aladdin and really enjoyed the variety of food here. The desserts here were amongst the best I’ve ever had, especially the delicious Genie dessert! The place was quiet too which is always a bonus to get a break from the noise!

Whilst both were brilliant, we wanted to try something new. This only left us with one buffet restaurant – Plaza Gardens, which, as you’ll know, do the character breakfast which we ate at on Day 3. You can read about our experience here. You can see how this didn’t leave us with many options. In fact, this left us with no buffet options! We’d eaten at all three already!

Instead of the usual late lunch/early dinner that we’d been enjoying on the first two days I decided to book us a lunch and a dinner following our hotel breakfast. Since we had two vouchers left to use on our final day we needed to squeeze two meals in. This was a great opportunity to try out the table service meals since there wouldn’t be as much food compared with the buffets and we’d have to share them with our hungry toddler anyway!
For our first choice we went for a 1pm sitting at Walt’s in Disneyland Park. We loved eating here. It felt ‘fancy’ and offered a bit of history combined with something special.
If I’m being truly honest, this restaurant is extremely expensive for what you get. If we didn’t have a dining plan, it would have cost €55 per adult and that doesn’t include a drink. Me and my husband don’t eat out very often, so maybe this is the going rate these days for fancy restaurants? But, I get the feeling that this is pretty expensive, and if it isn’t, well, maybe this is the reason why we don’t eat out!
If I’d have paid the amount they charge, I think I’d have felt a little out-of-pocket. The portions were small and my main wasn’t the most flavorsome dish.

With Walt’s, I really feel that you are paying for location and whilst I’d recommend this to anyone on the Dining Plan, I think the price is steep without. That being said, we absolutely loved our experience here and it was really cool to see all the decor featuring Walt Disney and Roy Disney. I loved that all the meals were inspired by the childhood of Walt Disney too. I even got to treat myself to a pricey cocktail whilst my daughter had her nap!

Captain Jack’s was a completely different experience and a disappointing one if I dare say. Unfortunately due to my bad planning we didn’t go at the best time missing the final show of the evening but this didn’t have an impact on service, that was bad all on its own. The table was so dark it was hard to read the menus or even see our food! The waitress got the order wrong twice and I even had to send my dessert back. The wait times were long yet we felt rushed to be out of there. Overall, it was my least favourite part of our trip. A perfect example of how much of an impact your dining plans can make on your overall experience!

You can read my full reviews for Walt’s and Jack’s as part of my Day 4 trip journal below.
Disneyland Paris: Day 4 – Lions, pirates and mice.. oh boy!
Our last full day at Disneyland Paris included eating out at Walt’s and Captain Jack’s, our first stage show and a souvenir that we will treasure forever!
With a lot of the places we visited, because we purchased the dining plan, it didn’t feel like we were spending money. Sometimes when you pay for a plan, you tend not to think about the money again, because you’ve already spent it. If I was paying for the meals like a normal bill I think I would have had a little heart attack at the prices adding up. That’s the beauty of the dining plan – Pay now, eat later! Hakuna Matata.
Was it worth it?
Dining in the Disney restaurants was easily one of the highlights of our trip. Planning where we would go added to the excitement and it gave structure to our day. Having that break where we could enjoy a sit down meal was great and we looked forward to every meal. Given we visited during a heat wave, the air conditioned restaurants were a welcome break!

The buffets were a huge hit in our household with the ability to keep going back for more and the fact our two year old ate for free! The fact you got a drink included was a great bonus too.
The table service restaurants were hit and miss with one being amazing and the other disappointing but with lots to choose from you’d have to try them all to find your favourite and I wouldn’t rule any out!
So let’s do the math, did we save any money?
Table Service – Jack’s – €55
Table Service – Walt’s – €55
Buffet – Agrabah – €45
Buffet – PYM – €45
3x Sequoia Lodge Breakfasts – €90
Plaza Gardens Character Breakfast – €30 + €23
Total seperate cost – €343
Dining Plan price paid – €295
Difference – €48 savings!
Verdict – Book the Disney Dining Plan and enjoy the magic in more ways than one!

~ Visited Disneyland Paris in June, 2025 ~
At the time of writing this when I visited in 2025, Walt Disney Studios still existed. As of 2026 Studios has been replaced by Disney’s Adventure World. You may notice I use both names throughout this post because of the changeover occurring between my visit and this being published.
