Last month, I went… Llama trekking!

Hidden away on the edge of Harrogate, England there is Kiln Farm. Home to rabbits, alpacas and most importantly plenty of llamas!

After a spot of ‘speed dating’ with the animals to help us find an appropriate match to suit our personality, I was paired up with Ant the alpaca (named after the incredible duo Ant & Dec of course). He was a quiet, short and extremely slow alpaca that liked to stroll at the back of the herd. Well suited to me and my little legs I must say!

We walked 1.5 miles up and down the hills of Nidderdale and through the sticky mud admiring the beautiful views of the Yorkshire dales. Just me, Ant, 2 alpacas and 9 llamas on a Saturday stroll.

We took selfies, ate grass and spat. It was a pretty epic experience and not one I can say I’d ever considered before. I’m so lucky to have been invited along as part of a hen doo. It makes me wonder what other activities are dotted around Britain ready for me to try next!

If you’re interested in trying llama trekking I’d highly recommend the experience. Check out Nidderdale Llamas!
