Welcome to my Post Hill walking series. This is a series of blog posts about the many different routes you can walk through Post Hill in West Yorkshire. If you’re looking for a walk in the Pudsey and Farnley area then Post Hill is the place for you.

Initially named Spring Hill, this was renamed Post Hill for Yorkshire Evening Post who used to sponsor motorcycle and climbing events here.
I won’t give you a history lesson because I’m not all that clued up on it! I’m here for the walks. However, I did find a really interesting video telling you about the history of the area should you wish to learn more. View the video on YouTube here.
There are tons and tons of routes you can take when walking through Post Hill. You can turn mostly any walk in to a loop without having to walk the same path twice if you have a good sense of direction – That’s what I love about the place!
I walk Post Hill every week, sometimes even daily. It is the closest walk to my house and my favourite.
Over a series of blog posts I’m going to be sharing with you some of my favourite routes so you can enjoy a stroll around Post Hill. Of course this is easy enough to enjoy without a guide so feel free to explore the place without me too.

I will focus on several different routes you can take and I will break down each option as best as I can. I’ve named each route, like an episode of Friends, mostly for my amusement but also to differentiate between the routes.
Once I’ve posted details of each walk I’ll include links to them below, so please stay tuned.
When walking with my dog I walk at a steady pace with minimal stops. When walking with my toddler on my back I’m a little slower. Durations mentioned alongside the route are a rough guide and depend on your pace.

When it has rained, some parts of Post hill may be inaccessible or extremely muddy. I tend to avoid any of the routes close to the beck after heavy rainfall.
As you can imagine, there are also many options besides the paths I have taken. This should give you a good idea of which direction to go in should you wish to explore Post Hill.
I hope you enjoy this series and if you do, please leave me a comment!

All articles I have written in relation to Post Hill will automatically appear below as I write them!
