As we near 2022, we near 10 years since I first created this blog!
I can’t quite believe it’s been that long. I remember setting up my first Tumblr site like it was yesterday. It really has come a long way since then.
Whilst I don’t publish content to 1000s of readers (that was never my intention) I sure have published 1000s of words over the years. I think it’s also fair to say I’ve covered 1000s of miles too!

This blog was created a long time ago originally as a journal for writing down my thoughts and experiences as I travelled around the world. Often it was treated like a diary for me to one day look back on and remember what I was up to day by day. As I’ve got older, as you can imagine, my style of writing has adapted and changed just like my style of travel has too!
Over the years I’ve gone from backpacking solo as a teenager to hiking up mountains as a thirty-something with my dog. You’ll notice my writing style alters as much as my adventures do. Here you’ll find a combination of diary entries, reviews, articles and recommendations.

I won’t apologise for my poor writing skills all those years ago and my overuse of the word ‘lol’ – I was a kid and living my dream – Travelling the world and blogging as I went.
I am so thankful that I chose to keep a diary of my adventures – It’s a blast from the past to look back on but it’s a reminder that I really have lived my best life.

My writing now is more structured and tailored towards offering recommendations and guidance for walking trails, places to visit and things to see. Perhaps I will write a few ‘diary’ entries again sometime? It’s definitely a lot of fun to read back on.
If you want to read any of my stories or previous entries over the last 10 years I’ve now added an archive page. If you’re in need of some inspiration or fancy creating your own travel journal, you can visit my previous posts over here – Dear Diary.. You’ll also find this page at the top of the blog across the links bar.
I encourage everyone to write. As often as you can and as much as you can muster. Enjoy what you write and look forward to looking back on it one day. Have fun!
