The Hardest Part of Travelling that No One Talks About – Under African Skies

This article puts into words exactly how I normally feel after going travelling. Nobody understands how it is unless they have themselves taken the plunge and been away for a while.

But I am now living proof that you can get it out of your system. I have felt like the article describes the aftermath of every solo trip I’ve taken since I first started travelling back in 2010 excluding my most recent 2016 adventure. Since returning from my biggest trip last month I can honestly say I don’t miss being on my trip one bit. Could it be possible that I have shaken off the travel bug?

Well I don’t think it’s quite that, I’m still excited to visit new places yet I have no desire whatsoever to hit the road solo again or take a trip that lasts for a long period of time. Yes I’ve changed and learnt more about myself through travelling but perhaps the reason for my latest trip not having the same effect as the others is because I’m one of the few lucky ones to have had the opportunity to take a few life changing trips throughout my lifetime.

Never thought I’d be able to write this but I’m happy that I’m finally able to sit still and not become agitated because I don’t have my next trip planned. For the first time in over 2 years I have no idea what the rest of the year may bring- and I’m excited about that. 😎
