I’m back in Cup 19 with my trusty notebook and latest thriller novel for one last bit of me time before we see the end of 2025!
I was going to sit and write a reflection post for this year but first, I think it might be time to talk about Cup 19 itself! Since it has played a big part of my life in the last couple of years without even meaning to.

You might remember me writing my birthday reflection back in August sitting from this very same spot. My post is here should you wish to revisit. This summer I wrote:
I’ve headed to Cup 19 in Farsley that do the most delicious hot chocolates. The best cuppa I have found in the area! Today I went for butterscotch! The flavours never disappoint.
Once upon a time I used to sit in this coffee shop with my baby as she was sleeping. I always wondered just how much time I would get to read before she woke up. It was a race against the clock and I always knew before long i’d have to get up and leave. I perched in the corner trying not to disturb anyone always worried she would start crying loudly. I knew one day i’d return here without her which would be a milestone in itself… Today is that day.
Well fast forward to December and my daughter is fully settled in at nursery whilst I enjoy my last day off to myself before returning to my career in January. Of course I had to come back here.
The thing about Cup 19 is, it is so welcoming. The staff are friendly, the decor is extremely stylish, the setting is cosy and most importantly the drinks are delicious. In fact, I have to admit they are the best hot chocolates I’ve found in the area. As someone who doesn’t drink coffee or tea – This is major bonus!

Cup 19 can be found in the small town of Farsley and only a short walk from the market town of Pudsey.
Every season they have a new collection of drinks to try alongside various cakes on offer. I’ve yet to be disappointed! My personal favourite being the scrumptious Smores hot chocolate!
It’s always nice and warm here and today they are playing a very relaxed festive playlist. I love it when cafes get the balance right. It might not sound like much but there are places I walk in with no atmosphere at all, it almost feels uncomfortable to sit down with the bare silence or uncomfortable setting. You can even find the opposite where the music or radio can be so loud I can’t even pick up my book as i’m so distracted. When a cafe gets it right, you keep visiting and that’s why Cup 19 does well.
Today I decided i’d treat myself to some lunch and order from their festive menu. I stuck with the classic tuna melt with three cheese. It was tasty and a great choice! The menu is varied and offers breakfast, small and large lunches with a whole sweet menu too including pancakes.

I couldn’t pop in today without ordering a festive hot chocolate. This time I went for the nutcracker made with caramel and hazelnut. Not great for the waistline I can imagine but brilliant for the tastebuds!

Besides all the positives I’ve mentioned above, this cafe also does private hire which is a brilliant idea for their upstairs space. To top it off it is even dog friendly! I’d love to bring our mutt in sometime. Maybe next year?
I’ve mentioned previously this cafe was a lifeline for me on maternity leave. When my daughter was a baby i’d walk up here and pop in whilst she was sleeping. I’d read in the corner until the moment she woke up then i’d leave. Once I even met a couple more mums on their own maternity leave whilst I was here. It is nice to find a pram-friendly cafe that feels welcoming to parents. There are far too many places we are excluded from due to small spaces or inaccessible entrances. To top it off, the place offers a corner filled with children’s toys which I saw a 3 year old enjoying whilst I was here today. Perhaps I will return with my daughter again now she’s a toddler too.
Cup 19 manages to offer all of this whilst remaining stylish and inviting. You really need to visit to understand what I mean.

I’m sure there will be many more visits to come in the new year.

Do you live local to Leeds? Why not check it out for yourself?
