This walk starts from the Pudsey Road entrance to Post Hill. You can access this via the road on foot or alternatively if you want to walk this in reverse it is easily done. In reverse you will start at Wickes roundabout entrance (Wood Lane) which has a small car park.
Assuming you’ve started at Pudsey Road, enter Post Hill by climbing over the wall. It is a little awkward this one but there is steps to help you. If your dog is as big as mine, hopefully they will jump straight over!

This entrance has space for a couple of cars should you wish to park. It is located about 1/3 of the way from the bottom of Pudsey Road. You should spot the entrance from the road easily.

Once you enter, the map will show you where you are within Post Hill. It also has a beautiful view over to the rest of Post Hill.

Head in to Post Hill and follow the path. It is easy to follow and you’ll pass the BMX trail on your left.

After a few minutes you’ll come to a beck and be able to see the water running alongside the path if you visit in winter. If visiting during summer you might find this route to be quite overgrown if it’s not been maintained.

Now you’ll come to the reason this walk gets the nickname ‘the route with the bridge’ – Unofficially named by me to differentiate between the different routes!

Cross the bridge and continue until you come to a junction with two options. There is the route with the stairs on your right and the route to your left. The stairs is an option, but we will explore that another time. Today we are following the path to the left.

This walk is probably one of the muddiest in Post Hill after it has been raining! With its close proximity to the beck you’ll likely need your wellies.

If you’ve really had enough of the mud, you can cut out early once you come to the houses on your left. You’ll eventually see a cut through over a small bridge that will take you straight back on to Pudsey Road. You can walk left back up Pudsey Road to where you first started.

Not dipping out early means you will carry on walking for my favourite part of the walk and probably my favourite section of Post Hill! Here you will find yourself surrounded by trees with the beck on your left and the scent of garlic in the air. You might have already noticed you are surrounded by garlic!

If you stop by the beck, you might be able to spot fish as we have before. You can also appreciate what a lovely view these houses have from their garden.

Finally, you’ll reach the end of this stretch and veer right and slightly uphill to bring you to the exit.

This walk ends at the Wood Lane entrance. Come out of the gate and turn left then left again to be back on Pudsey Road. Around 15 minutes walking up Pudsey Road and you’ll be back to where you started.

This walk starts on Pudsey road and ends on Wood Lane. As mentioned earlier you could do it in reverse and park at the Wood Lane car park.

This walk takes approximately 20 minutes or less and is only 1km in length from start to finish.

Make it circular
Want to make this a circular walk? Besides walking from Wood Lane along Pudsey Road to your start point, there are other options.
My personal favourite is to walk a loop within Post Hill. Obviously you can walk back on yourself if you don’t want to get lost. Alternatively you can head into the woods via the path. Facing the signpost head straight on.

Follow this for a little while. You will see the route you just walked parallel to you on a lower level.

Once you get to an area that splits off; head towards the right taking you amongst the trees.

There are some benches underneath these trees should you wish to take a seat. These are some of the only benches within Post Hill so a good stopping point if you need one.

Before long you will come to the stairs you passed earlier only this time you will be at the top of them!

Head down the steps and turn left. Walk until you come to the bridge then continue to walk as before leading you back to the Pudsey Road entrance.
This is an easy walk taking less than 45 minutes to walk the whole thing circular.
I hope you enjoy Post Hill if you decide to visit. Please let me know what you think of this walk in the comments below.
