One step closer to 2026 and for the first time in as long as I can remember i’m entering the new year with no travel plans!
Yes you heard right, I have no flights booked. Shocker!
With life as it is, we have a busy 2026 ahead of us as we have decided to take the plunge and relocate! So who knows where this will take us. With moving comes stress, the unknown, expenditure and.. more stress. But also, lots of excitement, the unknown in a fun way and plenty to look forward to. It’s the first time I’ve felt we don’t need to have something booked to keep us occupied. So with the move on the horizon we’ve yet to plan anything abroad.
I’m excited to see where we end up in 2026 but of course we still have our new yearly family tradition set for February. Our second trip to Butlin’s in Skegness! We went this year for the first time and loved it so much we knew we’d have to return. What a great place to take a toddler! I’m looking forward to our little trip already.

Looking back on 2025 we’ve had a huge amount of adventures. This has been the year we’ve been able to try out new things that we’ve always wanted to do once we were parents. I’ve enjoyed visiting loads of attractions especially now my daughter, Hilda, is old enough to fully immerse herself.
We started the year with a trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park then Yorkshire Wildlife Park. I’d been to neither of them before and we got great winter off peak discount on entry. It was fun seeing these places for the first time at the same time as Hilda.

2025 was the year we reinstated our membership for RSPB nature reserves. We visited loads all across the country and it reminded me of how much I love a good walk amongst nature. We had fun revisiting all the places we’d been pre-covid and heading to new reserves we’d not gone to before too.

We went on a few UK holidays in 2025 really embracing dog-friendly caravan stays! We used only Park Dean but hope to branch out to Haven in 2026 or elsewhere if we can get some good deals. Park Dean served us well and we had some fantastic holidays by the coast. Staying at Sunnydale down near Mablethorpe at Easter then Skipsea Sands close to Hornsea for Halloween. We celebrated some fun occasions and enjoyed new locations.

Traveling with kids and dogs: Why we choose caravans over hotels
How caravans changed our holidays forever and why we always travel this way in the UK.
We ventured across to Whitby many times in 2025. As always we enjoyed Steampunk Festival with the addition of Whitby Pirate Festival too. Our first time heading to this and we loved it. I can’t wait to continue attending both events in 2026 and making new friends like we always do.

For a long weekend last month we headed to Wales for a rare family reunion enjoying an amazing house in the countryside with all 24 of us! It was an incredible holiday of hiking, early Christmas celebrations, family time and fun. We even visited Shropshire Sculpture Park on the way down which was one of the best attractions I’ve ever been to.

A November to remember
Looking back on the last month of adventures and going out with a bang in 2025!
This year was the year for amazing holidays too. We went on a sunny stay filled with swimming and cocktails in Turkiye this summer. It was amazing and i’d love to head on another in 2026 but I doubt the purse strings will stretch that far!

Food, drinks and shopping in the popular cruise port near Izmir.
A jam packed year filled with amazing adventures and it’s wonderful to finally be able to enjoy life as a parent out of the newborn stage! In 2025 we celebrated our daughters 2nd birthday with my favourite trip of all – Disneyland Paris!

The highlight of 2025 was watching our little princess skipping around Disneyland happy as ever enjoying the magic. It has inspired us to save for Walt Disney World and visit there one day with her. I blogged all about our days there so I could remember it forever. You can look back and read them all here.
Disneyland Paris – Here we come!
Looking back on my trip to Disneyland Paris in June 2025’s heat wave! Starting with the journey from our home to the airport and Disney hotel!
What a year!
It has been a jam-packed 2025 with things to look forward to every month for my family and I. It will surely be a hard one to top! It’s safe to say 2026 will be much quieter on the travel front but I’m glad I’ve been able to enjoy making the most of the time together as a family before our daughter starts school.
Who knows where 2026 will take us but one thing is for sure it will be full of adventure.
